about michal

Growing up in the Moravian-Silesian region, Michal discovered his passion for sport on the ice — years of professional hockey gave him a first-hand understanding of what the body demands at a high level, and what happens when movement breaks down.

That athletic background became the foundation for everything that followed. Today, Michal works as a physiotherapist at Roots Health Clinic and personal trainer at Advance Training in Prague, helping athletes and active individuals move better, perform stronger, and recover fully — without being held back by pain or injury.

He brings a genuinely multidisciplinary perspective to every session: academic training in both physical education and physiotherapy, hands-on experience with elite youth athletes, and the practical instincts of someone who has competed at a high level himself. Michal stays close to the latest research and is committed to an evidence-based approach in everything he does. He is a strong believer that strength training is a fundamental part of both rehabilitation and long-term performance — not something that comes after recovery, but an essential tool throughout it. The result is care that is targeted, individual, and built around each person's real movement — not a template.

Whether you are returning from injury, chasing a performance goal, or simply want to feel more capable in daily life, Michal's approach is the same: understand the root of the problem, build from there, and make the results last.

Outside the clinic, Michal is a passionate cyclist with an Ironman on his horizon. He lives what he teaches — and when he is not training, he is happiest spending time with his wife and two kids.

education & qualifications

At Roots Health Clinic, Michal helps clients improve the way they move, recover, and perform through a combination of physiotherapy, strength-based rehabilitation, and practical movement education. His goal is not only to reduce pain, but to help people build a body that functions better long-term — whether in sport or everyday life.

In his sessions, Michal combines manual therapy, exercise, and individualized movement strategies based on each person’s needs and goals. With experience in both clinical physiotherapy and athletic performance environments, he works with active individuals, athletes, and people recovering from injury who want sustainable results rather than temporary relief.

performance physiotherapy & strength-based rehabilitation

Michal combines physiotherapy with strength and conditioning principles to help clients move more efficiently, recover from injuries, and improve long-term physical performance. His approach is built around understanding how the body functions as a whole, rather than isolating a single painful area.

Drawing from both clinical physiotherapy and high-level athletic experience, he works with active individuals and athletes who want to improve movement quality, reduce recurring pain, and build greater confidence in their body through practical, sustainable training and rehabilitation.

testimonials

Patients often come to Michal looking for relief from pain, support during recovery, or guidance in returning to movement and sport. Here are a few words from people who have worked with him.

"Michal was able to pinpoint exactly all the spots that were hurting me."

I was really nervous going into my first physical therapy session, but I left pleasantly surprised. I was shocked that Michal was able to pinpoint exactly all the spots that were hurting me just by touching them, without me having to explain anything to him beforehand. Thanks to various techniques for releasing problematic painful areas, acupuncture, and the exercises Michal gave me, my hands have improved tremendously after my tendonitis—both in terms of pain and mobility—and it’s also helping me a lot with the pain in my shoulder blades and wrists, which are quite strained due to my work and therefore require a bit of a longer-term approach.
